Reminder Special Event Kathy Lindell Owner of Eagles Nest Designs

What an opportunity to have Kathy come to Spindles and Quilts on February 23, 2013 from 1pm to 4pm.  She will be sharing many of her wonderful patterns.  Tip on quilting and review of the patterns is part of the Demo.

Here is a little about her in her own words -

I started sewing in Junior High School making garments but didn't start quilting until 1994. I took my first class from an excellent local instructor in Wichita Falls, Texas, where we learned to do the entire process by hand- the old fashioned way (piecing with templates, sewing and quilting). After that I learned to do the same techniques by machine. It wasn’t long before I started “tweaking” patterns to suit myself and that lead to designing my own. I have been designing my own quilts since 1995.

In 1998 I started teaching at local guilds and shops. I have had the opportunity to take courses in dating fabrics (2000), quilt appraisal (2001), and quilt judging (2002) (certified).

Eagles Nest Designs was established in 2004 when I started marketing my designs.
Since that time I have lectured and given trunk shows at local guilds and taught at local shops in the northwest.

Starting in 2008 I have been traveling with my quilts, patterns and kits as a vendor in many of the shows in the Northwest.

"Kaleidoscope Quilt" by Gale Davis

Part of the fun of having a store is seeing what others are making.  This quilt came swishing into the store the other day.

Awesome 2013 Block Party

This was an "Awesome" Block Party.  Eleanor Burns knows how to put one on for sure.  Even when there is a problem she just keeps the show moving. :)  These ladies make the party extra special!

The pattern is called "Hole in the Wall"

We picked fabric out after the show for the quilt.
We are all hoping to have one finished before the next Block Party in March.
Of course we will share pictures!

You have until March to sign up for the rest of the year.  You can catch up and have the new patterns.
Stop by the shop to sign up!

Her First Quilt!

Jackie stopped by a while back to share her first quilt.
She made this as a gift to her mother.
Now she is working to preserve it for future generations.

Jackie is one of the first women to come to the shop right after we opened.
She has come to demos and the Tee Shirt Class.
What is her next project is the question!

Thanks for sharing!
